![]() I am not sure when you are allowed to tell someone what to do, but here goes. if the check valve is stuck open it will also prevent people from having hot water. it is possible the check valve could be bad ( weak spring ) but if it is new probably just debris holding it open. There is a check valve behind the circulating pump that can get stuck open with debris ( solder ), this causes the water to circulate through the heating coil instead of the hot water tank ( path of least resistance ), but that should only happen if a hot water supply valve is open. We do not install these very often, I apologize for the lack of info.if the circulating pump is not running. I am not infront of the system right now, but the discharge pipe was no where near as hot as the inlet if that is any indicator.
